A bar chart draws one bar for each group.

An empty chart. The side line counts rainy days.
Step 1 of 5
  1. An empty chart. The side line counts rainy days.
  2. Week 1: 3 rainy days.
  3. Week 2: 7 rainy days.
  4. Week 3: 9 rainy days. The tallest bar.
  5. Week 4: 4 rainy days.

A taller bar means a bigger count. In this chart, week 3 has the most rainy days. A tall bar does not mean good or bad.

  • Each bar has a label under it.
  • Compare the heights. Do not guess.
  • Read the numbers on the side line before you compare two charts. The same height can mean different counts.
