How Nature Works in Harmony

People are in the picture too

Mangrove trees grow where rivers meet the sea. What do they do for people?

A storm. Big waves roll in from the sea.
Step 1 of 3
  1. A storm. Big waves roll in from the sea.
  2. Mangroves slow the waves. Smaller waves reach the houses.
  3. The mangroves are cut. Bigger waves reach the houses.

The rule

Mangroves slow strong winds and waves in storms. Ecosystems also give people clean air, water, food, wood and medicines.

People's changes travel along the same links as any other change.

Bees and some other animals carry pollen between flowers. They are pollinators.

Growing one crop again and again is monoculture. It can harm the soil and the pollinators.
