Electricity: Circuits and their Components

One loop, one break, everything stops

Two lamps are on one loop. Both glow. Remove one, and the other goes dark too.

Loading lab…

The idea

Two lamps, a switch and a wire, all on one loop. Both lamps light.
Step 1 of 3
  1. Two lamps, a switch and a wire, all on one loop. Both lamps light.
  2. The first lamp is taken out. There is one gap now.
  3. Both lamps go dark, not just the one that was removed.

The rule

Parts in one loop share one path. Take one out and every lamp goes dark.

A broken filament leaves a gap, like a lamp taken out.

Parts joined one after another are in a row.
