Exploring Substances: Acidic, Basic, and Neutral

Turmeric paper and red rose

You have vinegar, baking soda water and sugar water. You have only turmeric paper. Can it name all three?

The idea

No. Turmeric paper stays yellow in vinegar and in sugar water. So it cannot tell an acid from a neutral liquid.

Litmus is not the only indicator. Turmeric paper is yellow. Red rose extract is the coloured liquid from red rose petals.
