Digital Safety & Citizenship II

Rights online come with duties

Think of the last thing you looked up online. You were free to do that. So is every other person.

Each right has a duty beside it.

The rule

Every right online comes with a duty to other people.

A right is something every person should be able to do. A duty is something you owe to others in return. Every other person has the same rights. So you owe each person the matching duty.

Four rights, and the duty that goes with each
RightThe duty that goes with it
Feel safeDo not bully or scare anyone
Say what you thinkDo not tease a group or use rude names
Look things upCheck before you pass it on
Keep your facts privateLeave other people's private things alone

An OTP is a one-time code sent to your phone. Never share a password or an OTP. If someone asks for one, tell a grown-up you trust.

Breaking into someone's account is wrong. It can be against the law.

Find the duty that was missed.
