Digital Safety & Citizenship II

The trail that builds up

You post one photo at the ground on a Saturday. Alone, it says little.

Two trails: what others can see, and what the service keeps.
Step 1 of 4
  1. Two trails: what others can see, and what the service keeps.
  2. One photo posted at the ground. A photo can carry the place and the time.
  3. Another photo, same spot, another Saturday.
  4. Two items that agree = a pattern.

A service is an app or a website. Your digital footprint is what you post, plus what a service keeps. One item says one fact. Two that agree say a pattern. Two Saturdays at one ground may show where you often go.

You leave some footprint on purpose and some without knowing.

An OTP is a one-time code sent to your phone. Never share passwords or OTPs. Do not post your address, or where you are. Ask a grown-up before you post anything about yourself.

Watch out!

Deleting a post does not undo it. Anybody who saved or shared it still has it.

Ask a grown-up you trust to help with anything already posted.

Add posts one at a time. See what a stranger could learn.
