Track Zero: Getting Ready for Maths

Counting: touch each thing once

A quick look says six mangoes. Tap each one, and you count seven.

The rule

A quick look can miss a mango. Touching each one does not.

A number tells exactly how many things there are.

Touch each thing once. Say one count word (1, 2, 3 and so on) each time. The last word you say is the answer.

Miss one, and your count is too small. Touch one twice, and your count is too big.

Example

Seven mangoes. Touch them: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7. The answer is 7.
