The Ever-Evolving World of Science

Start here

A tap runs slowly most mornings. Nobody has written anything down. Where do you start?

Write it down. Count it. Look closer.

Read Chapter 1, The Ever-Evolving World of Science, in your NCERT book. The chapter says science is a way of thinking. You ask questions, test ideas, and accept new answers that pass tests.

What you will do

  • Drop an idea that a trusted record does not fit.
  • Count evidence, the checked facts, for two explanations.
  • See how a finer tool shows more.
  • Test where a simple model works.
  • Compare the results of two groups.
  • Pick a test that tells two ideas apart.
  • Find the questions one answer can fit.
  • Judge a choice by what it does to nature.

Each lesson starts with a small lab. Read the words after it.

Need a quick recap?

  • Say what you expect first (Class 6). A guess said first can be tested.
  • One try can fool you (Class 6). Repeat a test and take the average.
