Lines and Angles

Drawing an angle

Reading an angle is one skill. Drawing an angle is the opposite skill.

Draw a ray with your ruler. Mark the vertex.
Step 1 of 4
  1. Draw a ray with your ruler. Mark the vertex.
  2. Put the protractor centre on the vertex. Put its base on the ray.
  3. Find your degree mark. Make a dot.
  4. Lift the protractor. Draw a ray from the vertex through the dot.

The rule

Put the protractor centre on the vertex. Its base lies on your first ray.

Read the scale that starts at 0 on that ray. Mark the degree you want.

The second ray goes from the vertex through your mark.

Example

To draw 50°, put the centre on the vertex. Put the base on the ray. The 0 on the scale lies on your ray. Count up the scale to 50. Make a dot at 50. Draw a ray from the vertex through the dot. The two rays make 50°.
