AI Literacy II: Training and Decision Trees

Following a wrong answer back

A school kitchen keeps supplies on two shelves. Its decision tree gets one thing wrong. Which one?

Wrapped in paper? No.
Step 1 of 5
  1. Wrapped in paper? No.
  2. From the dairy? No.
  3. Lands on the open shelf. Wrong shelf for paneer.
  4. Add one question: kept in a tray?
  5. Yes: cold cupboard. No: open shelf. Fixed.

The tree puts paneer on the open shelf, which is wrong.

Supplies are the food and goods a kitchen keeps. Here, from the dairy means delivered by the dairy. The paneer came from a shop.

The path is the questions it was asked, in order.

Every answer along the path was true. So the mistake is a missing question. No question told paneer and a tin of oil apart. Add one question in one place. Then the paneer goes to the right shelf.

Watch out!

Fixing paneer does not make the tree right for every new thing. Test it on things it has not seen.

Walk each thing down the tree.
