Counting up in steps

An over has 6 balls. After 4 overs: 6, 12, 18, 24 balls.

Numbers 1 to 24 in a grid.
Step 1 of 5
  1. Numbers 1 to 24 in a grid.
  2. Count 6 — first multiple.
  3. Count 6 more — 12.
  4. Count 6 more — 18.
  5. Count 6 more — 24. It keeps going.

The rule

A multiple is a number you reach by counting in equal steps. Multiples of 6: 6, 12, 18, 24, and so on. 6 + 6 = 12. 12 + 6 = 18. 18 + 6 = 24. The list never stops, because you can always add 6 again.

Every number is a multiple of itself too. Check with 6: 6 × 1 = 6.

Slide the step in the lab. Watch its multiples turn bright.
