Draw a round shape by eye. Lay a ruler across it two ways. You get two different numbers. It looks round. It is not.
What this track covers
- Exact, not neat — check with numbers, not with your eyes.
- The circle — every point is the same distance from the centre.
- Across the middle — that line is two radii long.
- Carrying a length — a compass copies a length. No number needed.
- Square corners — test one without a protractor, the tool that measures angles.
- Order — some steps must wait for others.
This is Chapter 8 of your Class 6 book, Playing with Constructions. Keep a ruler and a compass ready.
