Split the big job

You plan a picnic. That is one big job. Where do you start?

Loading lab…

Start by splitting the picnic into parts. Each part is small enough to do.

Now tap Forget a part in the lab. The bus job has no box, so it is left out.

One big job: plan a picnic.
Step 1 of 5
  1. One big job: plan a picnic.
  2. Part 1: food.
  3. Part 2: fun and games.
  4. Part 3: getting there.
  5. Part 4: cleanup.

Decomposition splits a big job into smaller, named parts.

Give every part a clear name. A part with no name is easy to forget. A forgotten part leaves its jobs undone.
