Lesson 5 of 8

Say which part was yours

Show on a big screen

6 min

Text size

An invented project page has six parts. Which were really yours?

Take one part of a page.
Step 1 of 4
  1. Take one part of a page.
  2. Ask: did a machine write the first version?
  3. No: I wrote it. It is mine.
  4. Yes: if I changed it, the machine helped. If I kept it, the machine wrote it.

Yours are the parts a machine did not write first.

The rule

The record is what really happened to a part. It tells who wrote it first and whether I changed it.

Each part of your work has a record. Sort by the record, not by how the writing sounds. Then say what the record says.

That sentence is your credit. It says which parts were yours. It also says which a machine wrote or helped with. You stay responsible for everything you submit, even parts a machine wrote.

Schools have different rules about machine help. Ask your teacher.

Tap what the record says.
