Text size

An app offers the next video before you ask. Where did that list come from?

Five kinds of video. Each has 2 taps.
Step 1 of 4
  1. Five kinds of video. Each has 2 taps.
  2. Rangoli gets 10 more taps.
  3. Ten places are shared out by taps.
  4. Rangoli takes 6 of the 10 places.

One simple way: the app counts taps for each kind of video. A count like this is a tally. The list has ten places, one for each video it offers. A bigger share of taps gets a kind more places.

The rule

Suggestions can be built from a tally of what got tapped. Tap one kind much more, and it takes more of the list.

A suggestions list is a set of things an app offers. Nobody asked for them. This is one simple way to build one.

A list may upset you. If so, stop and tell a trusted adult.

Slide to add taps. Watch the places.
