For parents and children
Privacy
This page says what Smartable Academy saves and who can see it.
It also says how to stop saving and how to erase.
If you do not sign in
The Academy works without signing in.
Then everything stays on this device.
Nothing is sent to the school account.
Who is responsible
The school is responsible for its pupils’ records.
Smartable runs the Academy for the school.
Saying yes
A parent reads a short notice first.
The parent ticks a box before saving.
It says they are the child’s parent or guardian.
It also says they are 18 or older.
The school decides who has an account.
What is saved when a parent says yes
- Which lessons were read.
- Which quiz questions were opened.
- Checkpoint results.
- Practice exam results, and when they were taken.
- Where you stopped reading.
- Your streak, the days in a row.
- Official exams: counts right per topic, and passed or not.
- Which questions each official exam asked.
- Certificates: the child’s name and the exam. Never a score.
What is never saved
- Typed answers. They never leave this device.
- Which answers you gave in an official exam.
- Your picture, your phone number or your address.
Who can see it
The parent who saved it can see it.
The school’s administrator can see it too.
Teachers see the children who are saving, by name.
For each one, a teacher sees lessons read in each topic.
A teacher also sees the last day active and exams passed.
A teacher never sees scores, ranks or answers.
A teacher who is also the parent sees their child’s saved progress.
The other children show only as a count, like 2 of 4.
Other families cannot see it.
The people who run Smartable can reach the database.
Their usual reports show counts only.
How long it is kept
- Exam sittings, with their question lists, are deleted after 30 days.
- Progress, exam results and certificates stay while the child is at school.
- A finished exam keeps its question list and topic counts too.
- When the school deletes a child’s record, the Academy data is erased.
- Marking a child as left does not erase it.
- We keep the newest consent records only.
Stop saving and erase
A parent can stop saving at any time.
Tap the line that says Saved to school account.
Then tap Stop saving.
You can choose Stop and erase, or Stop, keep for now.
Stop and erase removes the saved copy at once.
If you only stop, we hide the copy.
We erase a hidden copy after 90 days.
Save again before then to get it back.
To erase later, tap Erase saved copy.
Erasing removes progress, exam results and certificates from the school account.
This device keeps its own copy.
If you tap Save again, this device sends its copy back.
Erasing cannot be undone.
What stays after you erase
We keep a short note that you erased it, for 1 year.
That note names your child by number and keeps the network address.
Short notes about exams, certificates and consent also stay for 1 year.
Those notes no longer name your child.
They show the day, the action and the account.
The record of when you said yes and stopped stays.
A bare record of an exam try stays up to 30 days.
It holds no questions and no answers.
It keeps the limit of three tries a day working.
When we erase a hidden copy, we keep a short note.
That note names your child by number.
We keep that note for 1 year.
Backups the school made before a reset may still hold older copies.
Where it is kept
Data is kept on Cloudflare servers.
These servers may be outside India.
The Academy shows no ads.
It loads nothing from other websites.
Platform backups can keep old copies for up to 30 days.
If data is leaked
If data is ever leaked, we will tell you.
We will say what happened and what to do.
