| Shared by everyone | What one user takes changes what is left for the others. |
| Soil | Soil forms slowly. Bare ground loses more soil in rain. |
| Forests | Clearing a patch stops two jobs: animal homes, and roots holding soil. |
| Renewable or not | A renewable resource refills in time. A non-renewable one does not refill in our lifetime. |
