Reduce, reuse and recycle

An old saree becomes a floor mat. What do we call that? Put six cases into three bins.

The saree is used again. That is reuse.

Reduce — use less. Reuse — use again. Recycle — break down and remake.

Reduce is the first choice, because less of the resource is taken. Reuse needs no remaking. Recycle needs work and energy to remake the material.
