A pipeline is jobs run one after another. A working pipeline still needs a write-up, a short report. Who did it get wrong, and why?

Five kites, two groups: steady (3) and dancer (2).
Step 1 of 4
  1. Five kites, two groups: steady (3) and dancer (2).
  2. Narrow register: steady scores 2 of 3.
  3. Narrow register: dancer scores 2 of 2. The miss sits in steady.
  4. Wide register: steady scores 3 of 3. The miss is gone.

The rule

The program got kite A2 wrong. A2 is homemade, but the register held only shop-bought kites.

Count the right answers once per group, with each group's own total. Then ask what the register never held. One total can hide a miss in one group.

One number, 4 of 5, hides which group the miss is in. Split by the judge's word, the miss shows. Under the narrow register, steady kites score 2 of 3. The narrow register holds only shop-bought kites. Dancer kites score 2 of 2. The miss is in the steady group. Kite A2 is the homemade kite.

Now switch to the wide register. It holds homemade kites and drops four shop kites. One of them was at 7 span, 4 tail. Run the same five kites again. Steady scores 3 of 3. The function did not change. Only the examples did.

Met first means reached first when walking the list. Adding the homemade kites to the old register would not be enough. Take a homemade kite at 8 span, 3 tail. It is also one square from A2. The shop kite at 7 span, 4 tail is met first. A tie keeps the first.

Switch the register. Find the group where the miss is.
