What it cannot know
Show on a big screenThe bus timetable changed last week. The AI tool never saw the new one. Wording alone cannot add it.
- What it was given: an old timetable, general facts.
- Outside the box: today's news, your notebook.
- The new timetable is outside the box too.
- No wording adds a fact you do not give it.
Answer the two questions below. Follow the route.

The rule
Ask two questions about the request. For some requests, wording alone cannot help. Then, if you have the fact, add it. If not, go and look, or ask someone who knows.
The route is the path your answers take through the two questions.
Two questions sort a request:
- Is the answer in the material you gave?
- Does it change, or is it about right now, or about you?
The answers give three routes. In the material: point the request at it, then trace each claim. Not in it, and fixed: ask clearly, then check. Not in it, and changing or about you: wording alone cannot help.
A request can name the stop and the day. It can quote the old timetable. It does not contain the new one.
No wording adds a fact you do not give the tool. If you have the new timetable, paste it in. If not, go and look. Or ask someone who knows, such as the bus conductor.
