An email app hides junk. A call app mutes a fan. A phone translates speech. How?

A person speaks in one language.
Step 1 of 4
  1. A person speaks in one language.
  2. Speech recognition turns the speech into text.
  3. Machine translation changes the text to another language.
  4. A computer voice speaks the new text aloud.

Each one uses AI that learned from many examples.

A speech translator usually does these three jobs. They are speech to text, translation, and text to speech.

Spam is unwanted junk mail. A spam filter stops it reaching your inbox. Many spam filters learn from examples. Call apps can learn the difference between speech and noise. Noise is any sound that is not speech, like a fan. Phones can suggest your next word as you type. A spam filter can send a good email to junk by mistake.

AI filters spam, clears call sound and translates speech. It can still make mistakes.

Read each job. Pick what the AI does.
