The main parts of a real device

Look at a laptop. You see a screen and keys. What sits inside the case?

A processor, memory and storage sit inside the case.

Most phones and laptops share the same main parts.

The processor does the work. Memory holds it now. Storage keeps it.

• Screen — shows words, pictures and video.
• Keys or touch — how you type or tap.
• Processor — does the work, step by step, fast.
• Memory — holds what you do right now.
• Storage — keeps your files with the power off.
