The triangle at the start.
Step 1 of 4
  1. The triangle at the start.
  2. Slid to a new spot. Same three lengths.
  3. Turned to face a new way. Same three lengths.
  4. Flipped into its mirror image. Same three lengths.

Three moves

  • Slide: move the figure in a straight line.
  • Turn: spin the figure round a fixed point.
  • Flip: turn the figure over, to make its mirror image.
Three moves, and what they change
MoveWhat changesWhat stays the same
SlideWhere it sitsEvery side and every corner
TurnWhich way it facesEvery side and every corner
FlipLeft and right swapEvery side and every corner

No move changes a side or a corner. So the moved figure is still congruent to the start.
