A mango seller sorts crates into full price and cut price. Cut price is lower. How?

Three crates, each with a count and a label.
Step 1 of 4
  1. Three crates, each with a count and a label.
  2. Show them to training.
  3. A rule comes out: few spots, full price.
  4. A new crate: the rule guesses cut price.

A rule learned from past crates decides: few spots, full price. Spots are dark marks on the skin. A crate's count is its number of spots.

The rule is learned from the pile. When the pile changes, the rule changes. The pile is the set of crates the program was shown.

A labelled example is one case with its answer already on it. One way to train a program is to show it many.

Guessing a group is classification. Full price or cut price is a group. Guessing a number is regression. Kilos of tomatoes sold is a number.

Show the program more crates. Then guess for a new one.
